Handcent SMS pop up notification

I use handcent SMS as my default messaging app. I noticed that when I receive an SMS my pop up notification turns my screen on and at the same time my Samsung unlock sound goes off.

If I reply or close out the pop up notification then I automatically hear the lock sound of the Samsung phone (the ripple sound)

I use handcent also. not sure what you are asking for sure, but If you want to change anything you go to the handcent settings, notification settings, then pop up settings.

The lock sound of the phone is going off at the same time the notification sound is when I receive a pop up sms. Then if I really to the pop up SMS it makes the Samsung lock sound after I send it

I think i disabled the lock sounds when i first got the phone because i don't tend to like extraneous sounds if they are not notifications,.... so my pop ups do not produce the sounds you reference.
