Rezound a World Phone?

I'm going to Germany in October (Oktoberfest) and would like to use my Rezound in-country. I seem to recall reading something about the Rezound having world phone capabilities built into the hardware if you know how to turn it on.

The ics update will make it possible without root. I think now you need root and a different sim. Card. So as long as we get our update before that, you should be good.

No root needed. It comes factory sim unlocked. You can use an app like "lte onoff" and switch to wcdma preferred, and you are good to go for voice. For data and texts, might be more tricky.

I would go that route and then get a prepaid SIM in Germany. I am guessing that when verizon goes full on with the world phone thing, the rates are going to be outrageous (hard to believe I know)
