Lovely plans...

If I'm reading that link right, I'd stay away from their 65 plus plans. The most basic plan there (200 anytime minutes, unlimited texting, and 2 GB data) looks to run $80. The standard Verizon plan (unlimited talk and text, with 1 GB data) runs $50 plus cost of the phone. You can even step up to 3 GB data for $65.

It may depend on what phone you get, but just got my Mother in Law signed up with a Galaxy Core Prime on device payment plan and the 1 GB Verizon plan for $57 plus taxes and fees. So look at all the options available, even if you qualify for a senior citizen plans.

A coworker told me she has a senior discount but she's been off contract for years so whatever she's got must be an old senior plan. She's also not over 65 and neither am I.

Some of those plans, like your co-worker has may be legacy and grandfathered in, so I don't know if you would qualify, especially with the new plans VZW rolled out a couple weeks ago. It may be best to call.

However, if you are already on a plan that is $34.99 and higher AND DON'T ALREADY GET AN EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT, you may be able to register for their Loyalty discount and save up to 8%

Some plans, like the $60 Unlimited Talk/Text 2 GB data plan are not eligible for future discounts.

Good Luck.
