How do I get my contacts to show up on the Message+ desktop app?

I decided to install the Message+ app on my phone to utilize the ability to text from other devices, but I am running into a bit of an issue. When I am using the desktop version of the app, none of my contacts show up. They don't show up in my messages, and they do not show up when I am trying to send a new message. I like the idea of being able to text on my laptop/tablet/etc, but it's inconvenient to have to actually go to my phone to look up the number if I want to send a new message.

Do you have the contacts syncd with Verizon cloud?

No. I have tried doing so, but I keep getting a "Cloud contacts backup failed!" notification.

If it makes a difference, I am using a Nexus 6P
