Device not found with adb, can anybody help!

when ever i connect my device to the computer using adb shell it tells me ( device not found).
pls can anybody help me out.

Do you have USB debugging on? If you do not you need to turn it on.

Go to settings, about device, go to build number, tap it 5 times or until it says Developer Options enabled. Go back out to settings, you should see Developer Options. Go in there scroll down to USB Debugging that should fix you up.
