Can't play music while playing games

Is there any way to fix music player stopping about 5 secs after i start up games? I have turned off all music & sound effects within any games i try to play while listening to music. Have also tried alternating which one i start up first. I have an Ares 8 tablet with lollipop 5.0. Would greatly appreciate any help or advice with this issue.

I'm not surprised; the game is grabbing control of the media subsystem, regardless of whether or not you have turned off game sounds.

What music player are you using?

Poweramp ( https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer&token=IgmbZrrS ) has a setting (Settings -> Audio -> Audio Focus -. Permanent Audio Focus Change, described as "Pause on permanent audio focus change (other player/game/etc.)" which seems to indicate that Poweramp is capable of playing though as you desire however I have not tested it.
