My SwiftKey keyboard (specifically, the backspace key?) has been doing some weird stuff lately under Beta 4.

Anyone else?

I don't use the Beta versions, but SwiftKey has been doing weird things on my Tab 2 running CM for a year or better.

I am using the SwiftKey Beta on my Nexus 6P running the latest version of Nougat and have not experienced any problems with the keyboard.

Swiftkey used to crash for me on the early beta versions, especially when creating notes in Keep, but it's been okay on my N6 since DP3.

I have the double word problem - on N5X running N DP4 - also had it on DP3 and on MM before that.

I am now trying Fleksy - actually pretty good for predictions and seems easier to type faster than Swiftkey

Nexus 5x with Android 7 beta 4. I've been using Swiftkey and it was getting pretty flaky. I would be trying to type my email address and I would look up and see it had suddenly skipped a space and added a couple of capital letters. I could see no pattern to what it was doing. I was having some other minor problems with various apps especially photos but that doesn't surprise me with a beta. Yesterday, I did a factory reset. All my apps, contacts, photos and so forth restored. I had to redo a few settings in specific apps. All I was actually missing were two ringtones I'd download. I checked the settings for Swiftkey and did uncheck the "auto inset prediction" feature.

In the interest of full disclosure, I did learn to type on an old Remington manual typewriter and that combined with short stubby fingers, and toes, I am a terrible typist on a virtual keyboard.

Yesterday evening I wrote some emails and did chores such as adding an email account and I was not longer having any problems with Swiftkey. I've been getting frequent updates for some of the apps. They're dealing with the beta, too.

I'd finally had enough on my tablet, last night, and uninstalled SwiftKey. For now, I'm using the stock Android keyboard. It may be clunky, next to SwiftKey, but at least what I type is what I get. No more. No less.

N.B.: The following applies to my Samsung Tab 2 10.1, running CyanogenMod.

Tried Fleksy. Didn't care for it, Really wanted a split keyboard, like SwiftKey had, for thumb typing in landscape orientation. Couldn't find one I liked. Finally gave Google Keyboard a try. No split keyboard mode, but excellent swiping. Better than SwiftKey's, I think. Better text prediction, too.

Most importantly: Gone is all the aberrant behaviour I was experiencing with SwiftKey.
