Previously easy to add caller to contacts from call log. Cannot see a way to do this in Oreo because no response (except button to delete) when select call and no visible way to access a menu in the call log.
3 screenshots:
Caller log when first opened.
Caller log menu open
Call selected that I want to add to contacts
Only option available when call selected is Delete. No menu showing. No option to add to caller list.
No relevant option in opening menu or settings as far as I can see.
Uh, I see. Just tab on the number you wish to create the contact. Then you should see the additional items like - call, Message, Video call and or detail.
Tab on "detail" and at the bottom you should have "create contact" or "Update Existing" or even "Block Number".
Maybe you see something on the screenshots that I do not. See the third screenshot. There is no 'detail' at the bottom or anything anywhere else that looks like a route to adding to contacts or calling back. That is why I asked the question!
How, if you know better, do I activate this missing menu? Selecting the item or pressing on it certainly doesn't help.
Can anyone recommend a replacement phone app from Android Play. I've had a look at a few, but none offers the full functionality of the old Samsung Android 7 phone app.
You will need to on the "actual" phone number you want to add to you contact. No need to click on the "3 dots"
Recents call log screen:
Tab on the number (for example -6420) and you will see more menu choices under the number ending with -6420.
Call - Message - Video call - Details
When you click on the "Details" it will bring you to the following screen where you can add the number to your contact. Which is on the lower left of the screen "Create Contact"
