Google Play Store Update

It appears Google Play Store received an update overnight.
See screenshots shots below. The "Manage apps and device" screens have changed, and not for the best in my opinion.
Play Store isn't even listed in the installed apps so you can't review it.

Running Android 12 Beta 2 on a Pixel 4a.

I know. My wife has it on her Pixel 4a on A11. She doesn't like at all.

Yes, I get the same screen on a OnePlus model.

I have had this new version since I factory reset my phone the other day. It does make installing apps easier if you do a clean install though. As they are listed alphabetically with a check box and once you select your apps to install you hit the download button and it starts all at once.

Yup server side mines changed as well with those functions.

I switched to the stock launcher (OnePlus) and the My Apps shortcut is still available after a long press.

I don't like it either it's just a bit confusing, now I'll have to learn this new interface.

After using it a full day with the "My Apps" shortcut that I used with the previous version I'm getting ok with the update. The shortcut goes to the screen shown in the first screenshot below. Updates are automatically checked for and if there are any all can be updated with one tap from that screen. If I want to see what the updates are the Manage tab brings me to the list.
Installed apps can be sorted Alphabetically (screenshot). Finally! I like that a lot.
The update is one I can gladly live with.

That's exactly how I feel. I got the server side update a while ago and my old shortcut still worked. In my case it's a swipe up Nova action.

Most people don't care about these things, have the auto-updates option enabled and use the Play Store mostly for new stuff. For these people the new update kind of works better. For us, bunch of nerds, the update sucks, with updates, settings and PS version hidden away. It's just a question of nerding out a bit more and use the available shortcuts
