Question Missing update in play store app

For the last several months, the number of updates listed in the notification bar, does not match the number of updates shown once you open the Play Store app. The number of 'pending updates' shown in the app, is always one less, than the number listed in the notification bar. It is as if, it knows it needs to update something, but it's not showing it in the app?? Is there a way (like command line, or developer tools), where I can get a text based listing of outstanding updates, and work out which update is missing/ broken? Is there another way I can reset(?) this listing of outstanding updates?

Welcome to Android Central! I've seen this for a while on all of my devices as well. I think it's just some minor bug -- send feedback to Google from within the Play Store app's settings and let them know.
