Executive Assistant is your all-in-one info hub for previewing any combination of email, texts, calendar, tasks, missed calls, rss, facebook and/or twitter. You choose which info you want to see.

Highly configurable and can be used in many different ways:
  • as a lock screen replacement to view your info without unlocking your phone. The lock screen mode can also host other widgets & app shortcuts
  • as a widget on other lock screen apps (e.g., on WidgetLocker)
  • as a lock screen widget on the system lock screen [Android 4.2 & up]
  • as a home screen widget -- many sizes to choose from [and resizable for Android 3 & up]. Replace multiple homescreen widgets & shortcuts with this single, all-in-one widget.
In all modes, launch apps, return missed calls, reply to texts.

Make it look just the way you want with custom icons & colors.

A free version is also available.

I use AquaMail, so that's great news.
Would really like this app if it was able to use GoSMS (instead of regular messaging app), and had a clock option for the lock screen.

You can already add any clock widget you like to the EA lock screen (see MENU/Widgets & shortcuts). I will look into supporting GoSMS, but ultimately, its just up to them -- GoSMS would need to share its data with EA.

Cheers,
Steve

In case anyone else is finding this thread...

Executive Assistant is a great app, and so far it's one of the few that I am going to pay for and keep using, I think.
But here are my issues with it, at the moment. Using Verizon S4, Android 4.2.2.

1. Lock screen "swipe" action is out of reach of my right thumb. Back button works to unlock, but it's prone to accidental unlocking. I'd like an alternate unlock swipe motion.

2. It doesn't display notifications other than the few things it knows how to display. It would be 100x better if it could also handle all other notifications, like from games.

3. It shows the Facebook news feed, not Facebook notifications. The former is useless to me, but the latter is priceless!

4. Sometimes on the lock screen, it takes a moment to appear, showing the default lock screen for a moment. Sometimes (rarely) it doesn't come up at all.

5. When I add widgets to the main screen, they can't be resized and they often crop the widget display. I tried putting a clock on there, for example, but it chopped off the sides of the widget.

6. I wish that I could customize the Summary tab but NOT get rid of the individual tab. For example, show me my Agenda for today and tomorrow in the Summary tab, but show me a full weekly view in the Calendar tab. Now, you can't show events in both. If you show them in Summary, there is no Calendar tab.

So, those may seem like a number of annoyances, but they aren't that bad. And they are pretty specific things, which means the app got most of the big stuff right. The default settings are reasonable and usable, and there are a lot of customization options. Very nice.

Matt,

Thanks for the excellent feedback!

1. I am looking into alternative unlock methods (although for Android 4.2 & up, you can also add the EA widget to the system lock screen).
2. Unfortunately, Android does not provide a general API for accessing notifications, but I recently discovered something that might work here -- I can't promise anything, but this might be possible.
3. More customization options for the FB (& Twitter & RSS) tabs are all in the works.
5. More control of the widget sizes & layouts is also something I will add at some point. In the meantime, a smaller clock widget should work.
6. Tapping a section on the Summary tab will already show the full, expended preview for that section with the same info as on the individual tab.

Thanks again for the feedback & suggestions. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

All the best,
Steve

Using an accessibility service? That seems to be how everyone else does it. It works, but not perfectly.

Right, but I'd actually like different content. I want the summary to show only today's events, but the full tab to show the next week. That would be most helpful to me.

Thanks Steve, great app, I'm still keeping it and will pay for it this weekend!

Yep, accessibility service was what I had in mind :)

Regarding the calendar tab: I agree that would be very useful and will try to get it added soon. In the meantime, you could achieve similar results by setting the "Max # of lines per section" option for the Summary tab. This will limit the number of items you see on the summary tab, but will still allow you to see all of them in the expanded preview.

Cheers,
Steve

RocketDial Dialer doesn't seem to launch when selected as the preferred dialer. Can you look into this please? Or was it the voicemail shortcut from your app? One or the other. Either way, I'd very much like to use Rocket Dial Dialer but I can't since your app seems to be incompatible with it. Thank you again.

I've been using this app for several years and it's great, there really is no comparable app out there.

I recently upgraded to Kit Kat and am having trouble getting the summary tab to show up on the home screen widget. I have it activated in the Preferences but the Summary tab doesn't show up. Any suggestions? I'm using an HTC One M8.

Thanks!
