Phone returns to disabled/uninstalled preset apps each time powered on! Help!!

Hi I'm new to this forum
But am hoping someone has ideas on a fix for this..

I have a new Virgin Mobile ZTE Awe
It came with alot of bloatware which I either uninstalled or disabled
I also changed the wallpaper settings, etc

So after I cleared the phone of most of the annoying extras I didn't need
I would power it off
When I turned it back on
ALL of the original apps and default wallpaper returns!!

Anyone know how to keep the settings as I want them?
