If you haven't tried it yet, give it a shot. Takes some getting used to, but since I used it on another OS, it didn't take me as long. So far the beta is doing well and I've yet to find anything that needs reporting (at least when you take out my errors).

Some who have tried it say the look is old or retro as I like to call it, but it does give me a lot more choices over my email. I also like that only the headers get downloaded (can be changed in the settings), so that I can review the emails I really want to read and just delete the others. Speaking of delete, if you try Profimail, while at the message list, just press and hold on a message, it's a pretty cool way of doing the popup menu, at least I think so.

I've used K9 and Maildroid and a few others that left me feeling like all they did was rename the same old code. K9 is by far the most feature rich other than Profimail.

While it's a beta, no charge, so play with it all you want, but don't just take a quick look and uninstall, study it, you'll find some nice features and once you know how to use it, you just might like it. I'm glad to see it here and can't wait for it to come out of beta, but my experience with it now seems to be better than what I'd expect from a beta.

I'm sure there's some warts, so go slow and take your time, it pays off.

    Good luck.

Well one week later and I'm liking Profimail more and more as I get into the settings and tweaks. I still don't like $27 for an email client, but I'm going to run the full 30 day trial and not judge on 15 minutes of use.

When coming to Android from Blackberry, the biggest complaint heard from the forums was about a decent email client. K9 was touted as the best out there but still didn't do it for some folks. Maildroid is an up and coming but has a bit to go for some and will never get there for others. Personally I'm holding out hope for all mail clients. Someone has to get it right sooner rather than later. In the mean time, Gmail is doing just fine, but needs a few more B&Ws.

So my search went on and I found Profimail, which I had used in another phone life. I tried it and it works better than the other life. It's beta still, which confuses me when you're charging for a beta, but I'm still not going to judge, I'll just keep working with it to make sure I want to spend the money or move on to something else.

So after one week, here's what I've noticed so far.

    1. Retro look that has it's appeal and some really neat ways of doing things.

    2. Push email is no problem, on demand email is no problem, and scheduled email is no problem. Pretty much Profimail does email very well. DUH!

    3. The biggest draw back is it's non-standard way of doing things, like double clicking on a folder or email.

    4. Only downloads the headers which gives you a chance to see if you want to download the entire email or delete it. You can set it up to download the entire email as an option. Since I only want certain emails on my phone, I choose to just download the headers. It's quick to retrieve the email anyway.

    5. It will run multiple email accounts, both IMAP and POP with no problem.

    6. It does folders, but so far I've not figured out how to move the email instead of just copying to another folder. It says "Move to folder", but what it's doing is copying it to another folder. So kind of confusing, but workable.

    7. It has a preview email pane if you want it and can mark the message as read if you view it in the preview pane. Another one of it's configuration options of which there are many.

    8. It has a unique touch and hold popup menu. If you try Profimail, go to a message list and just touch and hold a message. Up pops a circular menu with several choices of how to handle the message, delete, hide, etc.

    9. You can add an email sender to your contacts from the message.

    10. And one that's been handy for me, you can hide read messages or show them at the click of a menu button. Nothing worse than the unread counter showing one unread message and you can't find it. Just click "show unread only" from the menu and boom, there it is.

Ok, this is not intended to be an exhaustive list, just 10 things I've seen. Don't let the $27 dollar price tag scare you off, do the 30 days, I am and at the end if I feel that I can't live without Profimail, I'll buy it, but it will have to be the best email client out there and right now, it's the one that's doing the most for me, but that could change.

BTW, the answer is no, I don't work for Profimail, I just wanted to share what I've found and try to provide some positive feedback on what I think is a good email client, not great, they don't make those anymore, but it is good.

Curious if you're still using it, what improvements they've pushed out since you've started using it, etc. Are they active in updating it? -Pk

Anyone using profimail and has got it working perfect? mine just cant work properly, really want to get the licence but with this one big bug, i cant do it.

The updating of mail does not work perfectly. Sometimes it updates, sometimes it doesnt. When it doesnt, it will not check again until i go into the app.

And the developers response is slow and insincere.

Used this app when i was with symbian previously and hope that i can continue using it..

Coming from a Blackberry I have not been happy with any of the e-mail clients except ProfiMail. The only thing that I am not happy about is the $. Other than that, it is the only one I have found that comes close to what I use to be able to do the the BB.

I am about a week into my trial version and suddenly today all I get when I turn on Profimail is a gray screen. Is anyone else having this problem?

This issue certainly does not make me want to run out and give this developer $25,
