In my quest to not use certain third party apps in order to save battery, I switched to google keyboard. But in switching from swift key I have noticed that text correction on the google keyboard is significantly worse. For example a simple mistake such as "Ehat” instead of "what” is not corrected.

My real question is, does google keyboard get better over time or does it have a certain setting to make the text correction better....or am I stuck?

Any feedback would be much appreciated

Sadly, not so much... it will learn the words you type, but unlike SwiftKey, not the 'way' you do it. So it won't magically start correcting "ehat" as "what", but if you input "ehat" enough times, it will actually start suggesting "ehat" as a valid word.
