I am wanting to be able to automatically hide calls to the background. i want this so i can use my phone as the gps in my car but dont want to have to reopen it every time i get a call.

is there any way to do this with both outgoing and incoming calls? i know i can do it with incoming calls with the app "Call Popout" but i need it to do outgoing as well.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which version of Android is it running? If it's Lollipop, look for a Pin Screen option in Settings>Security. https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/6118421?hl=en

it appears that app does the same thing as call popout.... came to the conclusion that im going to run cyanogenmod lollipop 5.1 and get the screen pin mod, plus it gives me other features that ive been looking for such as nfc emulation and such
