Google Listen Uploading Data

I use Google Listen on my daily commute. I recently installed Traffic Monitor and noticed that Listen uploads a lot of data. It downloaded a couple of podcasts yesterday (24MB) and uploaded 20MB. Since installing Traffic Monitor (about a week), Listen has downloaded 78MB and uploaded 32MB! It doesn't upload that much when using wifi (200MB down / 76KB up); it only happens when using 3G. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this normal for Listen to upload this much data? Using a Droid X with Froyo (rooted).
