I was hoping that the filing system on the AIRDROID app would be helpful, but I can find the file I'm looking for. Is there a dedicated file finder / searcher / exporter program of some kind?

    thanks for any feedback,

Please don't create duplicate posts for the same topic. The android OS is based on Unix and is not logical. What type of file are you looking for, one you created or downloaded? It would be helpful to know which device, OS version and app you are using.

sincere apologies. the duplicate posting was an error on my part, not deliberate! Sorry.

yes, my device is a Motorola XT1650.

Am trying to export a sound recording, made in the .amr format. It was created by an app on the device yes.

    thanks for further help,

I like the file browser "x-plore" by Lonely Cat Games.

It has a Search command, and it knows how to play AMR files (from Visual Voicemail).
The VLC video app also can play the AMR files.

By default, the Visual Voicemail app puts its exported files in the folder /downloads/Visual Voicemail/
