Maps not speaking for directions

Using the phone and not connecting to a blue tooth device. No voice directions. If I uninstall maps and reinstall, the voice works for the first direction and then does not work again until I uninstall Maps and reinstall.

I suppose you are certain that media volume is not turned down/off, right?

What device are you using? What OS version?
