Ok my AA has been working great in the past. Some recent update has screwed it all up...and yes I have cleared cache already since most seem to think this is always the answer.

Main problem - I have a Kenwood dmx7705s reciever. I have tried many different cables with the same results.
AA will only start after my phone has been rebooted. Once I turn off the car or unplug the phone, I must reboot the phone in order for it to open up.

I am using a Samsung S10 phone....and I've tried to uninstall AA, but.......I see there isn't an actual AA icon anymore....and even when you try to unistall the app, once you plug it into the car it simply ask you to update AA.

I guess AA is part of the operating systems now? I'm not sure.

Just frustrating that for some reason I need to reboot my phone constantly now just to for crap to work.

    Any help out there?

    Thanks

    Read my post?

You cannot simply uninstall Android Auto anymore...its part of the Android Operating system now...........so you can go to the Google play store, tap uninstall...but AA is still there.

Because now when you go to Google play store > Android Auto it simply says update.

Or..........once I plug into my car my phone recognizes that AA needs to update......then once it updates im back the square one again. Once I unplug my phone, or turn off my car it will not recognize AA again until my phone has been freshly rebooted.

    Hahaha......

As I said....I uninstalled AA. But it shows as being installed......because its part of the android operating system.
And as soon as I plug it into my car it will not run without the update.

Then again, once I disconnect I will need to reboot everytime I reconnect Android Auto......wtf happen?-screenshot_20201229-221211_settings.jpg

Hmmm, what about if clear storage and force stop AA? This would be like resetting it .

All AA problems can almost always trace to one common factor: Samsung and its heavily modified Android OS.

Anyway, OP can try force stop AA instead of reboot the phone.

So how do you explain when the issues occur on other non Samsung devices?

A lot vendors do customize OS to a different degree. Look, I didn't assign any blame to anyone here. But tabulating the issues reported here and elsewhere, it seems Samsung's phones are the one most prone to AA failures.

Spending as much time as I do here I don't see any evidence as such. If that is the case that could simply be accounted for by virtue of the fact that Samsung sells more devices than most other brands we should expect a higher number of issues.
