Why are some games zoomed in?

Since the Android pie update, some games have been zoomed in. As in parts of the screen were cut off. How can I fix this? The games were "optimised to run in fullscreen" when it's actually not. There is no way to change this in the games so what can I do?

If you have the option you could turn down your screen resolution, but honestly it's the devs of the app and their coding. If you checked the reviews you might find several others with the same issue. While the app may have been optimized to run on Pie the issue lies in the code, and it may be a combination of code and your device. I say you should contact the dev and let them know your device and OS and see if they won't put out a patch.
