Multitasking not working

When I'm using some app, go to another app, the app is stopped and i have to go through loading the app again Happens with every single app. Spotify - have to start playback again, YT - have to go to history to find my video, PUBG - have to wait until the app starts and reconnect. it's really annoying. i was wondering if anyone had a similar problem or knows a fix

I would start with some basic troubleshooting.

. If you are using an SD card unmount it temporarily.
. If you have the Developer Options enabled switch them off to set the default values.
. Disable any battery booster/ram manager app that you have installed.
. See if you can wipe the cache partition from recovery. Not sure if this option is available on the 6.1.
. How much free storage do you have?

Do you have picture-in-picture disabled? (Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > (scroll all the way down to) Special app access.)

Check Spotify and YouTube and anything else you want to keep running when it's in the background and enable it for those apps.
