In a Pixel 2 XL on Android 10 I see an entry when I enter my "Battery use" section after going to Settings > Battery and tap the three dots. The entry just says "-5" with no icon (it's the default Android apk icon, as in a blank app) and every day it sits as the second most used app and my battery has decreased considerably since this thing started appearing. Though it sits right below "Twitter" (my most used app) and "YouTube" (my second most used app, according to the phone stats), when I tap on it to see the app-specific battery use details, screen-on use is always at "0 min" and second-plane use is at "0 min" as well. Which is impossible, because it's clearly eating battery. Checking a few moments ago it was at 57% of use in my phone.

What is this? It's been a few days since I saw it and I'm getting paranoid that it could be malware.

Welcome to the forums. That "-5" is the hotspot usage. Have you been sharing your mobile data with other devices?
