The title says it all... Google maps is working, but GPS speed in a cycling app is not working anymore exactly the day I installed Android 10. I see a lot more GPS issues, so this seems to be on the android side and not on the specific app designer.

Phone: Samsung galaxe A6

Go into Settings on the phone, look for Apps or Apps & Notifications (your A6 is surely different from my Pixel 2 XL and my Tab S3 is not on 10), find the app and make sure it has GPS permission. The new permissions allow 3 options - block, always allow, allow only when the app is in use. Make sure the proper option is selected.

The app tells you what the GPS receiver tells it. Install GPS Status & Toolbox and see if the GPS receiver is working. ("Speed" is just a calculation of difference between last location and present location over time - that the app itself does.)

Seems like GPS isn't working at all... app couldn't find GPS position and when I turned of google increased accuracy stuff, I don't get a blue dot in google maps either... Is this android 10 related?

GPS on my Pixel 2 XL has been fine while running Android 10, been using it for workout tracking and it's been working as well as a phone can be expected for such tasks.

The app is IPbike, but als google maps and strava are not working if wifi and bluetooth are disabled for extra precision. I think this indicates that GPS on its own isn't working no matter what.

gps may need default system apps in order to work well. and sometimes, default system apps may be turned off or disabled for some reason. In case there’s a default app that’s been disabled by mistake causing the bug, make sure to reset app preferences.

  • Open Settings app.
  • Tap Apps.
  • Tap on More settings at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  • Select Reset app preferences.
  • Restart your S10 and check for the problem.

Problem persists....

Already found that one, and that also did not work. I did a factory reset and now GPS seems to be working again. Terrible how an android upgrade can mess up everything and costs you a day to reset everything...
