Do you mean this button in the screenshot below? Try and clear the app cache through the settings-apps-Home-storage clean cache. Force stop the app. Then when you relaunch is it back? Is your phone on WiFi or cellular data?

OK, that feature is pretty cool (I had to try it), too bad I don't live with someone and as such have no use for it...

Do you have Duo installed and not disabled? That seems to use Duo to make the call.

If you had to download it (rather than it being there already) you wouldn't have the option to roll back.

I'm thinking it might have something to do with this, but don't know what might have changed to cause it to not work in the new place.

I actually recently (in March) had to buy a new router so I've recently been through the "set up from scratch" but all my stuff has been working as expected (including this feature apparently).

Some apps have a option to roll back to earlier version of it , and this one doesn't.

After so many days trying just about anything, I finally figured it out. In Home app click on the device (in my case google hub), then settings - go to recognition & personalization and turn ON allow personal results. The "call home" showed up.
