Hi there,

So I got sent a text with a hyperlink that redirected me through a bunch of websites onto a scam. I closed it but then wanted to report the links...

So I clicked on the initial link again that was sent to me via text but now that link is dead and I have no way of viewing my browser history as I did not open this in a browser but rather just through the built in browser in the messages app...

Is there any way to recover this information...? Thank you :)

Maybe try looking at your Google account history where you can see apps used and other device activity?

Well I have looked at the google account history but I am not sure If i am in the right place? I don't see the usage of other apps but I do see search history from my browsers but that is all... Maybe I am missing something?

The links should be saved because when I go into settings > Applications and then Messages it says there is a 8mb cache from internet usage but only gives me the option to clear the cache. Any other suggestions where I could be looking?

Well i see the usage of the apps like google play and such but my message app is not linked to that. Wish i just pressed open link in browser but how are you supposed to know before hand lol. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Any way to view history of the Text Browser?

Is there any way to view the history of the browser that opens through the messages app when clicking a hyperlink in the text or whatever...

The original link is now dead and I have no way of getting to where i previously was and there is no way of checking history for the messages app.... anyway I can see the data elsewhere?

Thank you :)

Re: Any way to view history of the Text Browser?

There is no separate browser in the SMS app, however, when a link is opened it may not be with your preferred web browser. Look at the history of the default browser on your device.

nevermind. I figured it out :) it was not in any browser history on the device at all. but what i did was root the device, then use a file explorer to access my root messages app caches and read them with the text editor to reveal the links :) Job done. Thanks anyways though I appreciate it still.... :)
