How can I lock my settings so they don't accidentally change?

Things are mysteriously changing, like ring sounds switch to vibrate only. I keep missing calls

More information would be helpful, such as, what device do you have, are you using a notifications scheduler, what other factors might be causing this, maybe? It is quite easy to accidentally press the volume down key to enter vibrate or silent mode without realizing you've done it, too.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have your phone set up to lock the screen soon after the screen goes off? If not, then you're at more risk for unintended screen touches if the screen accidentally turns on while in your pocket or in a bag. If there's no screen lock, then it could open directly to the homescreen, making it relatively easy for various unintended actions from random touches.
