Help!! Missing audio recordings after failed Huawei beam transfer

[Android Central Question]

I tried sending a few recordings on my Huawei P20 Pro to my Huawei P20 via Huawei beam but it failed because I didn't have the phones close enough to each other. After getting the notification about the failure I went to the default huawei audio recorder to resend the recordings and they weren't there. so I went to the files app, enabled "show hidden media files" and "show hidden files" options and searched for the application folder. After successfully locating the folder the recordings were gone. Please help

Did you have them backed up ? If not I'm afraid there gone.
