How to turn off notifications sounds

[Android Central Question]

Hello, I currently use Andriod 10. I'm having a problem where I can not turn off my notification volume. I have the volume levels set to nothing for everything except ringtone and media. I require my phone to ring for calls but my phone dinging everytime I receive a push notifications is extremely annoying and waking me up at night. How do I turn off notification sounds without turning down my ringtone?

Yeah try that so we can see if any 3rd party apps interfering with this .

You could try Do Not Disturb. But let the phone override.

You can also go to Settings > Notifications > find the app sending you the notification and just turn that one off. Turn any others off that you don't want to hear from as well.

Welcome to Android Central! I agree, Do Not Disturb should work for you. You can set it so that all calls can come through (or narrow it down to Contacts Only or Favorite Contacts Only).
