Why did my files storage usage double after I updated my OnePlus 6t to Android 11?

[Android Central Question]

My file storage jumped from 30GB to 60GB when I updated my OnePlus 6t to Android 11. I tried finding the source by looking at the file sizes on my computer but I couldn't any unusually large files. Frankly I'm not good enough with this stuff to be sure I was looking at the right place, but I've really done everything I could think of. I searched online for similar problems other people had, I made sure that I didn't have duplicate folders in my internal storage. I'm pretty stumped.

Welcome to Android Central! Was the system update pushed over-the-air, or did you download an update file from a website and manually install it?
