Why is it 2022 and we still dont have better control over bluetooth devices

[Android Central Question]

Why after years and years of frustratingly dealing with auto connections and Android auto completely hijacking my android phone is there still not a better, more in depth way to manage our bluetooth devices. Yes, there is DO NOT AUTO CONNECT, which my 2022 hyundai Elantra finds funny and laughs at me everytime I click this option. Also DO NOT AUTO PLAY MEDIA is an absolute joke. Because YouTube and any other media players just start playing music when my bose headphones connect up.
I just want to know why.......why in the sweet Christmas baby Jesus can we not get more indepth bluetooth control?
