why can i send photos in messages but not receive photos

i recently added updated my phone, but now cannot receive photos on my messaging

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen with anyone who sends you picture messages, or only with iPhone users? Do you have RCS Chat features turned on in the messaging app?
