Hi,
I have one Samsung Galaxy S20+ ( Android 12, One UI 4.1) and when i am moving (ex: using my car) a random siren starts (10 seconds long, volume of mobile can change it).
Try Catch show me that one event (12 UI motion) is probably the reason.
Why this is happening? How to solve it? How to reppair UI?
Thank you.

Is there a notification attached to this sound?

You say "siren" do you mean the phone sounds like a police car/burglar alarm/warning, or do you just mean it makes a notification sound?

You say it happens when you move and used the example of being in a vehicle, are there other times this happens? Is it at all speed or location related? For instance it doesn't happen when walking but does happen when running, doesn't happen when walking or running but happens when biking, doesn't happen when I'm in town but happens when I'm in the countryside?

It can be controlled with the phone volume, which volume control controls it? On Samsung you should have 4 controls typically, a wrench which controls system sounds, a bell which controls notification sounds, a speaker which controls call ringtones and a music note which controls media volume, when you change the volume which of those symbols appear?

Are you able to cause the issue to happen? Is there an event or task that you perform where this is sure to happen every time?

How long has this been happening? Can you think of or remember anything else happening around the time that this started? Installed a new app, scrolled through settings, opened developer options, dropped the device or got it wet... anything that comes to mind?

What app are you using for SMS?

What carrier do you have?

Is the device a carrier device or an unlocked device? Carrier devices usually have a splash screen with the name of the carrier, extra pre-installed apps, carrier apps that came pre-installed. Unlocked devices usually don't come preinstalled with carrier apps, often don't have any branding upon start-up?

Have you tried to reproduce it while the phone is in Safe Mode? If it happens in SM it likely is something related to the system, meaning we should be able to find a setting or something like that. If it doesn't happen in SM there is a good chance it is app related, which may have a setting still but it won't be a system setting. To get into SM press the power button then hold the power off button until Safe Mode appears and tap it to restart the phone in SM.

Initially because it happens when you move my first thought is something to do with SMS just because distracted driving is such a hot topic. I would imagine if it were related to something like that there would be some kind of notification that also pops up saying something about being safe and not getting distracted. I've never heard of an app that does this but it could be a setting or something accidentally turned on, especially when you think about how things are labeled. I could easily some weird setting name being turned on or tried and forgotten when nothing was initially observed. 10 seconds seems kind of long for that but you never know. My second thought was an accessibility setting. I'm picturing something for the visually impaired, not that they wouldn't be able to tell they were moving but all I'm hearing in my mind is the sound of a cross walk chime. Probably not but it's a thought. Similarly I can very easily see someone scrolling through their settings and turning on and off things to see what they do and maybe missing putting one back or leaving it enabled when it doesn't seem to do anything. I've also seen people with issues after allowing a child to play on or with a device. They can find anything and turn things on or off that we didn't even know existed.

Let us know what you find and the answers to our questions and we'll see if we can help you. Oh and before I forget, Welcome to Android Central.

Hi,

I recorded two times using another mobile and attached a print screen to this post.

One time i was in the car and in the other i was on home.

Recently (12/11) i changed my SIM CARD (from 4G to 5G), but in the same carrier.

The siren started one week ago (more or less 29/11)

I think you're on house arrest and it is telling someone that you are on the move... LOL.

This is rather odd. Have you repeated your experiments while in Safe Mode?

Do you have that sound set for any of your system sounds?

I wouldn't think it related to the SIM change. Not sure who your carrier is but from everything I'm reading there are no 4G vs 5G SIM cards. Some carriers are branding them with the 5G logo I'm assuming for advertising or to make their customers feel special. All of the stuff that makes a device 5G is built into the phone and the SIM should just identify your device to the network and there shouldn't be anything special about it that I've heard of.

Who is your carrier?

Does it happen after restarting the phone? We kind of know that it happens after the phone has been on all day and I see that you can cause it to happen, curious if the phone was restarted and before any apps are opened or used if it would happen or if the phone would have to be on for awhile before it started happening?

Let us know what you find.

There are 3 types of 5G

5G DSS - Same SIM, Antenna and Frequency of 4G
5G NSA (Non Standalone) - Same SIM, antenna 4G but with differente frequency
5G SA (Standalone) - Another type of SIM, antenna and frequency

I'm from Brazil and the company is called Vivo (local partner of AT&T, T-Mobile)

Today is raining but in will test with another car and with my bicycle.

I dont have this sound associated with another event, i never heard that before.

The problem is linked to be moving so i can reproduce while im driving.

I restored the default configurations but didnt work.

Try taking away the Body Sensor permission.

Settings>Apps>3 dots in the upper right corner>Permission Manager>Body Sensor> remove all apps from this permission. There may be some that you cannot remove, these should be system apps and system apps are usually not the cause of glitches. Any app that was removed and later needs this permission will ask again like it was the first time using the app. You can then say yes or no. Just remember what apps asked and when so if the issue goes away and then comes back you'll know it came back after XYZ app was given permission, and more than likely that will be the problem app.

Did you look to see if Bixby had any active profiles? While creating a Bixby routine is not something that could easily be done by accident it could be a practical joke, something was not disabled properly or something set as test/trial.

Truthfully I just don't believe we've found the issue. The odds of your device having a true virus is slim to none just based on how Android works. Research sandboxed operating system. In the meantime, you have yet to say if it happens in safe mode, which would give us a place to start as to the cause.

If it happens in Safe Mode it is system related. If it doesn't happen in SM it is more than likely an app issue. The approach for each is different but without that vital piece of troubleshooting we're stuck.
