    same case here.
i am using HTC m8 and i spoke to the guys in HTC Malaysia, they have no clue as well..
from the sound of it, sounds like a patch is needed and there's only a very small number of user impacted or at least reported..?

I found a solution, you need to buy an adaptator micro USB 5 pin to 11 pin as for galaxy S3

It works too for galaxy tab 3 !
    on ebay

Note 3 here... same issue with 4.4.4. Used the same cord on Galaxy S4 with 4.4.2 and it works. Anyone know if this is getting looked at?

I've had same issue for about a year.
    using app radio/hdtv.
only way it works is to not use charger at same time as hdmi plug.
Works flawless exept for battery drainage

Now I know what happened! I have this all set up in the car and then after a forced EFFING update bam. Nothing. I will try to disengage power supply back to the 11-pin hdmi mini plug. But I need power for the hdmi signal. Why can't at&t stop screwing with us? Damnit!

Hi, everyone I have the same problem called t-mobile and Samsung directly. Tried all of your suggestions first but didn't work . My phone provider or samsung were not able to help either. I think it's their way of getting us to purchase new phones. I bought 3 wires from best buy and also bought a pioneer radio for my car because I was able to connect my phone. Spent over $800 between radio and wires. Please help.

I was able to connect my Samsung Note 3 to my Samsung TV via my MHL to HDMI adapter and cable a couple of months ago. I tried again for the last few days and I get a message on my TV "No Signal" when everything is connected correctly and "No Cable Connected" if I unplug the micro USB power cord to the adapter. I also have 2 different MHL adapters I have been trying. When I called Samsung customer service today, the girl on the line told me that my TV is not capable of being used that way. (Um...WTF?) She laughed at me when I repeated that I connected them together before, and insinuated I was lying.

Here are all of the things I have tried so far.

    1. Verified the HDMI cable and the HDMI tv port was working by connecting my Xbox 360 to the same TV, cable and port.
    2. Was able to connect my friends Samsung S5 to the same TV, cable and port.
3.Tried downloading several apps from the play store including the ScreenMirroring plug fix. None of them worked.
    4. Updated my Android version to 4.4.2.
    5. Put my phone in "Safe Mode" to see if it might be a 3rd party app, but that didn't work either.
    6. Deleted all 3rd party apps I have downloaded as well as updates to other apps I never used. Nope! Didn't work either.

I don't have WiFi or cable so I can't use any other devices.
Are there any other suggestions any of you can think of for me to try? Is it possible to remove an Android update without doing a factory reset and deleting all of my family pictures and videos?

I have the same issue with my Hudl 2. In "settings" HDMI area all options are greyed out. I am able to cast the screen wirelessly as a work around but it would be nice to have HDMI functionality. Tesco Tech help is as often the case useless.
