SG NOTE 3 - Volume adjusting by itself

Hey guys!

First time poster with something that's doing my head in. I recently got the Note 3 through Telstra in Australia. I'm using box standard headphones and Spotify. I'm noticing that the volume with disappear completely when exiting out of a media-like Application like the Web Browser, Instagram, FB, etc. I'll slide down the quick settings at the top and it's like it's put itself on mute. Inversely though, when I enter one of the above applications the volume automatically goes to full.

I have no idea why and it's driving me nuts.

Software version is Android 4.3

Hi Koreyjames and all, Me too an all up newby to this but I think I have a similar experience with my Android version 4.4.2. When I most want to use the Tunein streaming or "Read aloud" in Play Books, is when I am walking. However since some of the last update of AOS causing the media to go mute when I attempt to turn off the screen. I have to keep the screen live to continue listening than all the touch sensitivity causing problem while waking.

It must be a Bug or please advice.

Software version is Android 4.4.2
