Sound not working on 12.2

[AC Question]

Any ideas on how to get this fixed? Volume is up but doesn't play on tablet or thru headphones.

Welcome to Android Central! Has it ever worked? Any recent drops or other trauma? Is Bluetooth on, and could there be a paired Bluetooth speaker or headphones nearby that the sound is being routed to? Does a reboot help?

Go to Settings>Sound, and double check the individual volumes for Media, Alarms, and Notifications.
