Can't create new folder on SD card

[AC Question]

I have a Galaxy Note 3 that is rooted. Each time I try to create a "Music" folder on the external SD card, I receive an error message: "Sorry, operation failed." I have tried using "File Expert" and "ES File Explorer," and no luck. All my photos are on the external SD inside folder "DCIM" and then subfolder "Camera." That's great. That's what I want. But I want a "Music" folder on this drive.

The only folders showing are: Android, data, DCIM, LOST.DIR, android_secure, and Contacts.vcf (I saved my contact information here).

Any suggestions? I appreciate it!

If you put the SD card into a computer are you able to do it?
