AC Question

My phone won't send any emails at all. I had a problem with the message about signal too weak on the internet connection, but have solved that. But I can't send any emails at all.

I have a Samsung Galaxy - nearly a year old. I don't know what S number it is.

Can someone talk me through what to do step by step? Most of the advice on here is above my head. Please help - I have missed meetings and been rude to friends and so forth all week without meaning to.

Try going to Settings, then selecting Apps (I think called Application-something on Samsungs), swipe to All which will be over to the right, scroll to Email (the apps are listed alphabetically), touch to open, and press Clear Data and Clear Cache.

Thanks for the advice. I've cleared the data and the cache but still no luck. I've also cleared the unsent emails (quite a few dating back a long way)! Still no good.

Any more ideas?

Install a different email app, set it up for your email account - email address and password - (let it set up automatically, don't set it up manually), and see if that works better. There are enough free ones in the Play Store that your only problem will be finding the one you like best. (It could take weeks to use each one for a few days.)

I've noticed a bit of a problem with Gmail the past few days. (Other email apps work just fine on my Gmail account, but the Gmail app doesn't.)

Thank you. I think I have found another app already there (called 'gmail' so it may be the one that has been playing up for you), and that one is working fine. What a relief! (My problem goes back to early August and I didn't even notice until a couple of days ago.) But I will avoid the 'email' app now.
