AC Question

So my friend had to change her gmail password. She did it on web and everything was fine. She didn't enable two-step authentication. Afterwards, the gmail app on her phone does not accept the new or old password. She tried the unlock captcha link, doesn't solve it. She can login from web and from her desktop but just not through her phone. I tried adding her gmail account with new password to my phone with no problem. She's also getting notifications when she logs in through web that sign-in was attempted - message is "Application/device sign-in attempt (prevented)". Thoughts?

Welcome to Android Central! Try removing the Google account from the phone (in Settings>Accounts), then add it back again, this time with the new password.

See what happens if you go to Settings>Apps>All, select Gmail, then Clear Cache/Clear Data and Force Stop. Now try again.
