How to change the language used in Google Map voice directions

I have a LG930 phone. I would like to be able to change the language spoken in my Google Maps voice directions. I do not find that option in the settings under Maps. It only gives me the option to mute the voice. I changed the language in my phone's system settings to Spanish, but the change did not follow through to Google Maps. It still spoke English. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.
