Typing in Google Assistant

Okay, something has changed in the last day or so.

Before, when I tapped the Google Assitant Microphone at the bottom, it would open and expect a VOICE input but I could also type in my question or word. Now, I do not see an option to immediately type in a word/phrase. I only have the VOICE aspect/mode.

I want the option to type. I just changed an Assistant setting to Keyboard and it made no change. I am still only greeted with an option of voice input. I also tweaked OUT of Gemini back to plain, ordinary, mundane Assistant!!!!! I N EED typing to help me find WORDLE word spellings! You can see the major problem, I'm sure!!!

2nd image I went to manage settings for first see if you have that toggle on? This is in Gboard settings under voice
