AC Question

Forgive me if my question has been covered. I could not find it posted.
When I try to get my voicemail on my Motorola Droid HD max, the recording asks for the passwords as usual, lately though the keyboard on which to enter the password will not appear. I press the button that requests the keyboard, but nothing happens. help!

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about the basic voicemail from your wireless provider? Or Verizon Visual Voicemail? If it's the basic voicemail, are you saying you can't bring up the dialer keypad to enter your PIN?

How are you accessing your voicemail? Are you tapping on a notification for the voicemail? When you call to retrieve your voicemail, the Dialer app should open up. If you don't immediately see the keypad (e.g., you only see a list of contacts), look for an icon along the bottom that looks like a small keypad icon, and tap on it.

On the keypad I dial *86. The prompt asks me for my password. The screen offers three bars to press "use touchtone pad"," Return to call in progress" or "add call"
none of these buttons get any response. Eventually the voicemail gives up waiting for me to enter the password.
