Temporarily switch off emails

[AC Question]

I have a Google Nexus 5, and have 2 email accounts on it. I would like to be able to temporarily disable my work one at weekends, but I only seem to be able to delete the account. I know I can remove alerts and sync, but the emails are still there when you go to the mail app. This used to be easy on a previous iphone and something I used to use all the time but I can't find an equivalent. Would be grateful for any help.
