saving data on my cell

AC Question

I want to put a new sim card in my Android. I've been told to save/download my contacts and pics on the actual phone itself. How can I do this?

Welcome to Android Central! I would recommend associating your contacts with your Google account, because they get synced automatically to the Google cloud. So if something happens to your phone, then your contacts will still be safe. I would backup photos to your computer's hard drive, or upload them to a cloud service like Google+ or Dropbox. Don't just keep information on the phone alone--phone storage can fail, and phones get lost or stolen, so if it's gone, it's gone for good.

Photos shouldn't be affected by a new SIM card, anyway. You're talking about a SIM card, and not an SD card, right?
