When I insert my micro SD card into my Samsung S3 my phone says that it is damaged and I should reformat it. How long should this format take?

My micro SD card is damaged says by my samsung s3 and how long is reformatting suppose to take?

I have AOKP rom and and 16 gigabyte device. It have a 64gb SD that is said to be damaged. My phone says to reformat it so i did and now it is stuck at the boot/ initiating swagger part for a long time. What should I do?

There are ways to recover files from a corrupted SD Card, using PhotoRec. If you mistakenly erase files, use Recuva. Should not of formatted the card. Power off the phone, remove SD Card, insert into USB Card Reader and use one of the above programs on your PC. Maybe you might get something recovered. Then format the SD card in the PC, using FAT32, turn off quick check Mark. Will take a while to format. Good luck.
