Can anyone help me with a MMS/Group text problem?

MMS/ Group text problem

Recently, my Samsung GS4 broke so I am now using someone's Note 2. The GS4 works well for MMS and the Note 2's previous owner said that MMS worked as well. Is the MMS not working for me because I am using a different SIM card? I have tried putting in various VPN settings and have downloaded Hangouts and Textra but the MMS still doesn't seem to work.

The mms server used by your network provider has to be in your APN. Make sure the mmsc is correct for your provider. You shouldn't have a VPN set up at all, but the APN has tio be set up correctly. (They're totally different things.)
