Why can't I upload a movie to my YouTube channel using my Samsung Galaxy TabPRO?

So I've connected a USB flash drive to my Samsung Galaxy TabPRO (Android, of course) with the adaptor cable in the micro port at the bottom. I can see the 'USB Drive' in MyFiles and can view my movies that I've made (.mov) that are on the stick.
I would like to upload these to my new YouTube channel but when I proceed through the steps (sign in, go to desktop view, click 'Upload' in top right corner, click select file in the resultant window...) I get so far but it won't allow me to select anything on my USB Drive as an option.

I also tried transferring the movies from my USB Drive to my tablet but the 'Upload' option still won't 'find' the file....(maybe I don't have it in the correct folder?!?).

I also tried 'long-clicking' the file and selecting the 'Share' symbol and then selecting YouTube but on the occasions i would actually get an upload page of sorts it would cut out saying 'there has been a problem in the network'.

I notice that 'Drive' is listed in the options for uploading files to YouTube. Do I have to upload the files to 'Drive' then? It seems to take AGES!!! Haven't actually completed a transfer to Drive yet.

Frustrated as I've bought this tablet almost purely for this purpose!!!
Could anyone help me??

Okay. I have a couple of options for you to try but here's 2.

Try the YouTube app and the Chrome browser (I would recommend the Monzilla Browser, the desktop view of YouTube is more than fair and okay)

Next (Or) try converting your .MOV to a more easier MP4 or AVI.

Thank you for your reply. Great to know I can get some help!!!

I've tried the YouTube app. I click on the three bars in the top left corner which takes me to a page showing my banner on the left, channel name and a menu of options below. I click on 'Uploads' which then informs me that I have 'no uploads found' and I click the upload symbol next to the search symbol in the top left. I'm then show some options from my tablet....Recent (which shows a couple of movies taken on my tablet, not the ones I want to upload), Videos (which shows the same two movies in my camera app) and Downloads (which shows a load of photos of my guitars greyed out). It doesn't enable me to choose anything from my USB stick. I tried this all again having 'moved' or 'pasted' the desired movie from my USB into a Downloads folder on my Device Storage and I could see the file there along with photos of my guitar. When I went back into the YouTube app and selected the Downloads folder (after clicking 'the upload symbol' in the top left), the movie was nowhere even though the guitar photos were!!

I do know that someone uploaded my .mov with no problem on her laptop so I do know the format works....(I don't want to be asking her to do this all the time and I've bought a spanking new tablet which surely should do this for me!!).
Even if I converted the .mov to mp4 or .avi, the problem is I can't even see the file as an option when I'm in the YouTube app.

It's a mess!!!
Please do you know of any other option????
I'm just about to try and find Mozilla and download it and try that.....

I'm sure you have a YouTube mobile email for uploading video directly from an email
And also, do you a Kikkat (4.4.1 - 4.4.4) running your Samsung device? If you do, this maybe the reason you cannot see the .MOV file through "uploads".

Thank you Mega-Izzy....

I didn't realise that using Kitkat might be another problem (honestly, I bought this thing to be up-to-date and compatible with the rest of the world!!).

I've found a way....
I upload my movies to Drive then when i sign in to YouTube and click upload etc. the item i want to upload is shown in 'Recent' as a 'Drive' file and I can therefore select the movie from that list (or indeed from the Drive list in the categories on the left).

Phew!!
Got there eventually.
