How to fix latest Android update causing predictive texting to double spacing after each selection?

Just updated my Note II's system. Now, when using predictive texting, it automatically double spaces after the word you select and won't automatically space after punctuation like it used to. This happened immediately after the system update and it's annoying as hell. I've seen that other providers have sent out a fix, but not sprint. Any suggestions? Hitting the backspace is just not going to cut it.
