How to use internal memory for storing files

I have android 4.2.2 smartphone with 4Gb ROM and SD micro card slot for adding external memory. My phone installs apps on ROM, but it doesn't store files (photos, ebooks, downloafs from internet,...) there. I need inserted SD micro card for storing that. Recently my SD card reader stopped working. I sent it gor repair, but they did not repair it. Now I was wondering, as 4Gb of ROM would probably suffice for my needs, can I make ROM memory to store above mentioned files?

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried a file exploring app, like ES File Explorer?

I don't use that android version but I think there should be some setting to do that. Look in storage and places like that to change the default when you save media files.

And check the settings in the camera and gallery app as well.
