Why am I not receiving software updates?

why am i not receiving software updates?

My software on my galaxy s5 is still 4.4.2 while my friends have 5.0.0. I check for updates in the 'about device' section of settings but it says the software is up to date! Please help.

1. What carrier do you have? Make sure your carrier pushed out the update.

2. If your carrier has, wait a week or so. Carriers normally send updates out in waves. So your device may take some time to receive it.
