Spotify after the lollipop update

normally I would be able to tap my phone to turn the screen on and see the Spotify player on the main screen while its locked I would be able to hit for the next song or stop or pause now Ever since the lollipop update when I use my Spotify and my screen times out, shuts down and locks I have to turn on my phone, unlock my phone, go into Spotify to get back to the playlist so I can move on to the next song. is there any way around this to make it to work how it used to work before?
